Balangandan
Balangandan, one of the UK’s leading Salsa, Cuban Timba and Latin Jazz Bands, was formed in spring 1995 by percussionist Tim Dodd.
Fiery, precise, powerful and passionate the band were quick to establish themselves as one of Britain’s leading and most exciting Latin combos.

Balangandan feature an international line-up of musical heavyweights from Cuba, Colombia, the UK, the USA, India, and Italy, all based and living here in London.
Balangandan, voted “Band of the Year” in 1999 by Jazz Live, play both original material and rearrangements of popular salsa classics, and with a diverse repertoire can perform authentic hard-hitting Salsa and Cuban Timba as well as fine Latin Jazz.
Balagandan have performed at venues such as the Royal festival Hall, the Barbican Centre, 606 Jazz Club and Smollensky’s, with private clients from the London Philharmonic Orchestra to as far away as the Seychelles.
Balangandan released their debut CD “En Cha” which was played on radio stations at the time such as Jazz FM and GLR as well as by popular Latin DJ's throughout the United Kingdom.
